BJP Dance Studio believe that dance is more than just movement. It’s all about building confidence, strength, and a positive mindset for girls and women of all ages. BJP Dance Studio is a renowned and well-established dance school, known for its diverse team of skilled instructors and a wide range of dance styles. With a strong commitment to excellence and creativity, the studio has built a reputation for nurturing talent and love for dance in students of all ages.
The goal was to create a standardised, unified look that would reflect their brand’s identity, emphasising their signature colour, red.
To achieve this, BJP Dance Studio initially reached out to The Uniform Edit, hoping to source off-the-rack products that were suitable but also readily available. They believed this would be a straightforward process; however, they quickly encountered significant challenges. One of the primary difficulties was maintaining their consistent colour red across different garments, which is essential for achieving a cohesive and polished appearance. The studio’s signature colour, red, proved to be particularly challenging.
Finding a range of garments in the exact same shade of red, was nearly impossible. Even when red garments were available, achieving a perfect colour match across various items like dresses, shirts, and jackets was impossible with standard, off-the-rack products. This realisation made it clear that this rebranding effort would not be as simple as selecting stock uniforms from a catalog. Instead, it would require a more customised approach to ensure that the entire team’s attire was perfectly aligned with BJP Dance Studio’s brand vision.
The Uniform Edit tackled the challenge by offering a custom solution, knowing that matching the exact shade of red across all garments was key to BJP Dance Studio’s rebranding. Since off-the-rack options couldn’t provide the needed colour consistency, The Uniform Edit suggested a tailored approach.
We started by dye-matching each garment to the same shade of red, ensuring that all items—jackets, dresses, skirts, blouses, and shirts—looked exactly the same in colour. Even though the fabrics for each type of garment were different, The Uniform Edit made sure they matched perfectly. For example, the dress fabric was carefully matched to the jacket and skirt, creating a unified look.
Another important factor was making sure the uniforms were comfortable and easy to move in, which is important in a dance environment. To address this, The Uniform Edit added a small amount of stretch or lycra to most of the fabrics. This made the uniforms consistent in colour and functional and comfortable for the teachers and other staffing.
To achieve this, all garments were custom-made at the factory level, with each fabric dyed to match the exact shade of red needed for that garment. For instance, the fabric for a blouse is different from what’s needed for a jacket, but by custom-dyeing each fabric, The Uniform Edit was able to create over 15 garments, all in the same shade of red. This ensured that the uniforms were visually consistent and perfectly suited for the dance studio’s needs.
Thanks to The Uniform Edit’s careful fabric selection and precise dyeing techniques, BJP Dance Studio now has a uniform collection that not only looks cohesive but also functions perfectly in their active environment. The consistency in colour across all garments, from jackets and dresses to skirts and shirts, ensures that the team presents a unified and professional appearance, reflecting the studio’s brand identity.
The uniforms are visually appealing and practical for the dance instructors, offering the necessary flexibility and comfort for movement. The addition of stretch or lycra in the fabrics allows the uniforms to move with the body, making them ideal for teaching and performing in a dynamic setting like a dance studio.
